Good Friends are hard to find

so, i have been in Norfolk since saturday afternoon/evening. exactly one week,

i have been away from my husband for one week and a day . . . that part SUCKS…

but, i know, i will deal…

i stayed in a temporary room at a barracks until monday afternoon, when i was told that i was going to have to find a place to stay out in town before friday or i lose my bah (for those that don’t know, that’s basic allowance for housing – what the government gives to service members to allow us to pay rent and such)

well, unfortunately Don cannot move up here until October. there is stuff going on, that he can’t leave.  additionally — when i informed and questioned people about him staying there, and my staying here while in school, everyone i talked to said it was fine, i would be able to stay in a barracks, blah blah blah, even the housing office that i called up here said it would be fine!!! i wish i had those notes of who i talked to, b/c according to everyone  — it’s not fine. b/c my orders are PCS and blah blah blahhhhh — i have to stay barracks and lose my BAH ((which i can’t)) or find a place to stay in town… the first thing that pops into my head is uhhh i can’t afford to pay rent in 2 places… especially since i am having to pay for my meals every day… cuz i can’t cook anything and that makes it hard to eat healthy, or at all…

so after many tears and frustrations and whatever, my wonderful friend Shayna steps in and offers me a place to stay for a minimal fee…

I’m so grateful that she did this… so now i must unpack my stuff in my snazzy new room that is to be mine for the next 3 months…

good friends are hard to find, but when you find them — they can change your entire world!!!

I am me. that's really all there is to know. I am still figuring out exactly all that entails, but I think it takes a lifetime to do so...
