welcome to the arctic

so, in the shop – i think it’s about 40 °F

it’s freezing in here… so much so that it’s hard to function, and kind of making me feel ill.

add to this fact — i severely burned myself thursday…

((is it burnt or burned??))

i went tanning, not thinking about my plans for the day, and then, got home, and took mom to the beach…

COMPLETELY not thinking about sunblock… cuz hey, i just went tanning, i should be fiiiiiiine

um.

dumb.

it was windy, so i kept getting covered in sand, and i was offered sunblock, which i would have readily used if i hadn’t had sand all over my skin…

but i toughed it out cuz it was mom’s first time at the beach…

i’mpaying for it…

massively… it hurts to move… and my skin is still super red and hot… and even swollen in places.

i’m definitely going to have blisters… *sigh*

i took a bath with apple cider vinegar and baking soda today in hopes to cool off or at least reduce redness…

um. no… it didn’t help…

i then mixed some lavender oil with my aloe vera lotion… and it actually slightly helped… for a little while…

when that wore off, i took some witch hazel and dabbed it on and then some vitamin e oil and then the lavender oil & aloe again…

temporary fixes…

i need to try the tea remedy… but i had done the apple cider bath instead… so tomorrow i’ll do the tea bath… altho i’m afraid i’ll dye the bathtub… i guess i can just do a compress, but — it’s an entire body type thing…

((i’ve gotten all these remedies off the trusty internet – if you have a no fail solution – please, let me know!! and yes,  i know — if i’d used sunblock in the first place i wouldn’t be in this predicament… so no smart ass remarks about that!))

but anyways– i think the burn is contributing to the arctic like conditions my body is facing — altho everyone at the shop tonight will tell you that it definitely is frigid in here…

  1. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda? Does that really help? Or actually what is it suppose to do? I have to go buy sunblock before I spend to much time outdoors!

    • ummm, no it didn’t help… i combined two of the remedies i saw… the only thing that helped was solarcaine that husband was nice enough to go buy while i slept this morning
      and definitely go buy sunblock…
      i just wasn’t really thinking clearly…
